The circuit is directly in the line of a Typhoon, called Ma-on, which is sweeping up Japan from the south and is due to hit Suzuka with extremely heavy rains between 9am and 3pm local time on Saturday.
The FIA are monitoring the situation and have yet to decide on a procedure if the sessions are cancelled but one source said that the most likely solution would be for the grid to line up in the order they finished the last race.
That would put Brazilian Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello on pole with Briton Jenson Button alongside him in his BAR-Honda but it would leave World Champion Michael Schumacher starting from 12th place, alongside former World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, in 11th.

Käsittääkkeni taifuuni Ma-on:nin pitäisi iskee susukahan huomenna aamu yhyreksän ja ilta kolomen välillä... Ja jos näin on, että aika-ajoja ei pystyty ajaan, niin lähtöjäriestys kisahan on viimekisan maalihin tulojärjestys, jolloin Ruubeni sais lähtee paalulta ja nappi vierestä... sumin lähtöpaikka olis 12. ja nöffnöff lähtis paikalta 11...vermula sanoi:

No nyt alkoi sataa jo sen verran enemmän, että alkaa tulla lammikoita. Massa, Glock ja Baumgartner pyörähtivät lähes peräkkäin kuudennessa mutkassa soralle. Lopputunnin taitaa olla aika hiljaista.

Live-timing on jostain syystä tökkinyt koko aamun.

Kimi oli n. 1,3 sekuntia nopeampi mitä seuraava Michelinkuljettaja. Sumin ero seuraavaan Bridgekuskiin taasen oli vain n. 0,7 sekuntia.

Ei tartte katsoa kuin tuloksia niin huomaa että Bridgestonen paras sadekuski tänään oli Fisichella ottaen huomioon että Sauber ei todellakaan ole noin vähän Ferraria hitaampi kosla. Ja kun katsoo millä sijoilla Jordanit ovat niin on päivänselvää että Bridgestonen renkailla on selvä etulyöntiasema. Veikkaan että Kimin aika Schumacherin Ferrarilla olisi ollut n. 1:43 ja osia.
