Toni to the Double Victory in Misano!
At this weekend Toni did continue his career in GT cars. He did drove his second race in Italian GT series GT2 class with Sara Free Playteam's Ferrari 360. Toni's driver partner Alessandro Pier Guidi did drive the first qualification and Toni did perform in the second one. Toni did make an fantastic laptime and was 0,7 seconds faster than Christian Pescatore who was second. Pescatore is former FIA GT Champion, so with his experience he's maybe the strongest rival for Vilander-Pier Guidi couple.
"I did get an really good feeling to qualification and it felt like this was the first time I was able to really push with this car. Earlier it felt more like cruising, but now I did found the style to drive this car."
Pier Guidi did start to the first one hour race and he did came to driver change in 4th place in middle of the race. At this point Italian-finnish duo was about 10 seconds behind GT2 class leader. Toni did start to do amazing recovery from the fourth place and he did cross the finish line as a GT2 class winner with 10 seconds marginal. Toni's first GT victory did came in his second GT race!
In the second race it was Toni's turn to start the race. He did drive superbly and came to the pits in 19 seconds lead. Alessandro Pier Guidi was also in good shape and he did grow their lead to almost 30 seconds in finish line. So it was an excellent day for Toni and Alessandro.
"This was a great weekend for us! It also gives an enormous amount of confidence for the forthcoming races. I want to say thanks for the whole team. Well done!"
Toni will next compete in Italian F3000 at forthcoming weekend.
