Another double victory for Team BMW Motorsport
It was a perfect farewell: The Team BMW Motorsport has finished the 33rd 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring first and second.
Other than last year the two 500bph GT-Coupes swapped places on their last big public appearances 139 times in 24 eventful hours, Pedro Lamy, Duncan Huisman, Boris Said and Andy Priaulx paid respect to the Nürburg-ruin in their BMW M3 GTR with the number 2.
The sister car, driven by Jörg Müller, Dirk Müller and Hans-Joachim Stuck gave an impressive performance, too, despite two unplanned pit stops, and finished 134 laps altogether. With 8:47.602 minutes Jörg Müller in his M3 GTR set the fastest lap of the race on lap 90.
With their eighth double victory altogether, BMW added another glorious chapter to their history in the 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring. This was the 18th time the blue-white marque secured itself the overall victory.
