With no rain for several hours, the racetrack has almost dried out, following last night's heavy rain.
Scattered showers continue to be present on the local radar and a stray shower cannot be ruled out this morning, but generally conditions are on an improving trend.
Later, conditions are expected to improve and we may even see some brief sunny spells over the circuit from time to time.
The maximum temperature will reach 18 degrees Celsius.
Showers continue to dodge around just to the south and east of Spa-Francorchamps. From the radar you can see that the line of showers is coming up from France, through Luxembourg and the far south-east of Belgium.
Generally these showers have stayed 10 to 20 miles to the south east of the circuit, but occasionally one or two have strayed a bit more northerly, as demonstrated by the light rain at the start of the morning practice.
With rain showers still in the area, the teams will remain concerned as they continue their preparations for qualifying.
Aamulla tiedämme joka tapauksessa enemmän.Tomorrow morning the Wallonia region should dawn dry but with darker, cloudy skies already heading for the area. Through the morning and towards afternoon the conditions are expected to deteriorate, with overcast conditions returning and even a threat of some light showers affecting the race.
Temperatures will be pegged back slightly due to a slight change in wind direction, with a maximum of only 16 degrees Celsius.
As suggested in the forecasts yesterday, the cloud cover has returned to Spa once again and the morning's support racing action is already underway with overcast skies and cool temperatures.
A large amount of rain has moved in to western Belgium overnight and there remains a strong possibility of showers reaching Spa as the day progresses.
This development will have the teams glued to their rainfall radars in the final hours before the race.
The top temperature today is expected to be low at just 16 degrees Celsius.
With the rain back on again, as yet another light shower passes over the circuit, conditions remain iffy.
This is a nightmare for the teams and drivers who would prefer the weather to do one thing or the other.
These light showers come across, and they aren't particularly heavy, but they do just enough to put the racing surface in that zone where it is very greasy.
As soon as the track becomes tricky it then stops, allowing the laptimes to start coming down once again. A dramatic day is in prospect, with conditions expected to remain like this for much of the day.
