live@autosport.com about Force India's 2011 potential as the team has not set startling times in testing.
Some analysis from @NobleF1: "If you think the front of the field is hard to predict, then it's nothing compared to trying to work out who is where in the midfield.
"That is why making any firm predictions for teams like Force India at the moment is a sure-fire way of looking either a total hero or a total idiot come Melbourne!
"However, we can say with some certainty that the team has not looked like it has so far made a step forward to emerge at the top of that midfield group. Yes, it may have been running with heavy fuel loads but even so, if it was super competitive then we would have seen some glimpses of that.
"How far back Force India is in that midfield though we don't know yet. I spoke to Heikki Kovalainen last night and he reckoned that Force India was Team Lotus's first 'established team' target, so that is what his outfit's analysis is saying. We will only know for definite in Australia though.
"Circumstances are certainly not helping Force India though. The loss of James Key and Mark Smith on the technical front last year will not have helped matters. And even if the team has not actually moved backwards – the competitiveness of the sport at the moment means standing still is bad enough.
"The consensus in the paddock appears to be that Force India is going to start the season in the second half of the field, but time and again teams have been written off – only to prove the critics totally wrong."
Plus we do not know yet how the races pan out in terms of tyre strategies. We could yet see that qualifying 11th is a golden ticket this year – as you can start the race on fresh tyres. And it is probably around there at the moment that many expect Force India to be.
