Okay, this could be the 'mother' of all conspiracy theories, but it's got one or two people in the paddock very excited.
When Ralf Schumacher announced to WilliamsF1 on Saturday morning - just an hour or so before practice was due to begin - that he didn't feel 100% correct and felt it best he withdrew from the remainder of the weekend's activities, there was a certain amount of cynicism within the paddock.
It's well documented that he and team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya dislike one another - intensely would not be to harsh a word - and that the German has no intention of helping the Colombian's title bid.
Earlier this week some sources claimed that Ralf was still suffering from headaches following his crash in testing here last week, while WilliamsF1 denied that there was any serious concern.
In spite of the fact that Ralf's performance on Friday was hardly awe inspiring, it could hardly be described as tardy. Yes he was 1.3s off the pace in practice - yet only 0.8s slower than Montoya - while the 'mistake' at the first chicane meant that he failed to post a time.
If he had mentioned the word headache to Professor Sid Watkins on Thursday it's unlikely that he would have been allowed to participate on Friday, in sports such as Rugby if a player is concussed - as Ralf was last week - he is stood down for a minimum of three weeks.
On Friday at the track Ralf appeared fine.
On Friday evening Ralf was apparently ordered by team boss Frank Williams to get to bed early in preparation for Saturday's sessions. However the German was still dining with his wife and a number of other friends at 22:00.
When he finally left to go to bed he failed to say goodnight to his brother Michael who was sitting at a nearby table with manager Willi Weber. If Ralf had felt a little unwell isn't is right to assume that he would have mentioned the fact to his brother and indeed his manager?
Last weekend Ralf went to a friend's wedding which took place on Sylt, an Island in the north sea, while earlier this week he played football. With a headache?
Anyway the theory currently doing the rounds at Monza is that Ralf has been sacked for not co-operating with the team and assisting his team-mate, and that the German will be replaced in the final two rounds by former WilliamsF1 star Jacques Villeneuve.
If this proves true, you heard it here first.
If it doesn't..
