Carmen Jorda has revealed to Sky Sports News HQ she will be Renault's development driver in 2016 and will return to the race track this season.
The Spaniard held the role with the Enstone team, then known as Lotus, in 2015 and says her duties will extend beyond simulator work this year.
Jorda last raced in the 2014 GP3 championship, but will return to the track in 2016 with Renault's backing.
"I'm happy and I'm glad to be part of them as development driver and the exciting news is that I will be racing this year, not in F1, but in another series with Renault," Jorda told Sky Sports News HQ at the team's launch in Paris.
"It is not just going to be simulator and development work so it is great."
