Ron Dennis vaati Ilta-sanomissa Kimiltä vastausta. Aika-ajojen jälkeen vaikutti siltä vastaus voi tulla hyvinkin nopeasti, nyt en taas tiedä. Tosin MCL on menettänyt paljon kovia äijiä leiristään...mitä tapahtuu '07 larenille?
Dennis sanoo että Räksä saa vapaasti lähteä, Mäkkärille on tunkua huippukuskeista muutenkin.
F1Liveltä kopsittua:
McLaren team boss Ron Dennis revealed at Sakhir today that flying Finn Kimi Raikkonen can leave the team any time he wants, and that a replacement could be signed tomorrow.
Raikkonen does not have a deal with McLaren for next year and has been linked with a move to Ferrari. He has grown frustrated at the raft of mechanical failures on his car. That culminated in a rear suspension failure in Saturday qualifying - forcing him to start from the back of the grid for Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix.
Dennis, who has already signed world champion Fernando Alonso to the team for next year's championship, said he would not force either Raikkonen or his Colombian team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya to stay next year.
"If Kimi or Juan Pablo think they will be better suited by moving to another team, then they can leave. Likewise, if I think McLaren can be better suited by signing someone else, then I could sign a new driver tomorrow. Yes, he (Raikkonen) will be (frustrated) because we all want to win world titles, and to do that, you need reliability.
"Why would we not recognise that failing to give Kimi the equipment to do that will make him think about his future.
"
The Englishman has run Mercedes Benz-powered McLaren since 1981 and has overseen eight world drivers' championships from drivers such as Frenchman Alain Prost, Brazilian Ayrton Senna and Finn Mika Hakkinen.
Raikkonen looked set to join that group in 2003, but missed out on the big prize to Germany's Michael Schumacher in a Ferrari. He missed out on the crown again last year to Renault driver Alonso, after losing certain wins in San Marino and Germany as a result of mechanical failures.
But Dennis believes that Raikkonen will stay with McLaren, possibly even beyond the end of the year, and refutes claims that the team are on a downward slope.
"He is hugely enthusiastic about the car. We've had a bit of a traumatic pre-season, but look at where we are now. In terms of speed and sector times, we believe we're truly competitive. We're certainly not going downhill just because of a screw-up in qualifying."

Onhan sinne jo Alonso tulossa aiheuttamaan poistumaa ainakin toisen nykykuskin osalta, mutta jos molemmat lähtevät, niin mistäs Ron yht'äkkiä sen uuden huipun nyhtää?
