The Vampire Lovers (1970)
Oh, good ol' days of horror films. Gore, nudity, cheap look and veteran actors like Peter Cushing made the film worth of look. Not to mention Ingrid Pitt and her accent. But since when vampires have had the ability to live & walk in the daylight and look themselves on the mirror?

Cube 2: Hypercube (
2002)
If you read my review of the original Cube, you might wonder why am I wasting my time watching it's sequels? The answer is... I don't really know. That friend of mine (who recommended this saga) said that especially the third movie could be his favourite film ever, so I decided to check it out... again, don't know why. And so I noticed Hypercube and thought "what the hell, I might as well watch that one too".
The first thing you notice is that the new cast is slightly, just SLIGHTLY less annoying than in the original film, but dialog & characters are still as horribly wooden as the last time. Story is nothing but virtual reality -bullshit mixed with parallel universes, but what would you expect...

Cube 3: Cube Zero (
2004)
After seeing the unsurprisingly disappointing Cube 2, this flick felt like an improvement. I'm not a big fan of prequels and we've seen this crap before, but Cube Zero actually kinda (partly) works and it finally explains some things that happened in the first two films, also referring to them a lot. Of course this is also a negative side since the originality of the first Cube somehow disappears. But still, I don't complain. For once the cast actually somehow works, although you can see some traditional overracting and cliche characters (black guy is always the evil one...) as well. Michael Riley was quite memorable though, definite star of the film.
It's still not a good movie by any means, but when compared to other two handicapped boredoms this was a little more tolerable and also better finale to weak series... for now. I don't recommend you to watch this trilogy, but if you want, skip the first two films and watch this instead. At least it's not as clumsy. Probably.

My Brother Tom (
2001)
Wonderful look to youth and it's innocence, changing and difficulty. Along with perfect handheld(!) camerawork, amazing storytelling & screenplay, disturbing (yet beutiful) atmosphere and lurking tension, I've gotta say that Jenna Harrison and Ben Whishaw in the lead roles are
fantastic. Really. I don't know (care) about you, but to me this whole experience made me to think lots of things, surely one of the best films I've ever seen in my life.
