Kimi Raikkonen went on track today for the Team from Maranello. The Finnish driver worked on the best setup and compared different aerodynamic solutions - amongst them a new front and back wing. But Kimi also worked on the car's overall reliability.
After a morning with some small problems - with a couple of long stops at the box when the mechanics worked on the car's underbody, and just 25 laps, in the afternoon he was out on the track for 81 laps, while also some start simulations from the grid were carried out at the end of the day.
Kimi's fastest lap was driven in 1.20.908, just behind the 1.20.338 by BMW's Nick Heidfeld in what seemed to be a qualiftying simulation.
"It was a good day, although we couldn't drive a lot, at least not as much as we had planned," Kimmi said. "The car seems to react really well to our setups and to the modifications carried out. It's comforring to know that, because it means that we're heading in the right direction. I know I'm repeating myself, but I have to say it again: it's still too early to understand where we are compared to the others. We have to wait untial Melbourne to have a clear idea."
