PS. Gerry Forsythe on tarjoutunut korjaamaan Tagin auton tai antamaan 40 000 dollaria korjaamiseen.
Laitetaanpa toinen, vähän keventävämpi uutinen myös. Alex Tagliani tekee koppiauto debyyttinsä ajamalla Tom Nastasin Blackforest-tallin Ford Mustangia Grand Am-sarjan Trois-Rivieresin kilpailussa.
Kyseisen tiimin ja tiimin omistajan (!) piti muuten osallistua tällä kaudella Atlantic-sarjaankin mutta haaveeksi jäi.
Nastasi sta olisi ollut silloin reilusti sarjan ikänestori.
EDIT:
Champ Car World Series driver Cristiano da Matta (#10 RuSPORT Ford-Cosworth / Lola / Bridgestone) underwent emergency surgery after being involved in an on-track incident during today’s open test session at Road America. Da Matta collided with a deer that had wandered onto the track, at approximately 3:08 pm CDT today.
Statement From Dr. Chris Pinderski, Champ Car Director of Medical Affairs:
“After arriving at Theda Clark Medical Center, a head CT scan showed Cristiano had suffered a subdural hematoma. He was urgently taken to the operating room for surgical removal of the hematoma and is now being observed in the intensive care unit.”
Updates concerning da Matta’s condition will be released when they become available.
RuSPORT has also announced that Justin Wilson and the No. 9 CDW / RuSPORT team will not participate in the final day of The Champ Car World Series Open Test at Road America on Friday, Aug. 3.
Answers.com defines a subdural hematoma as a pooling of blood between the dura, which is a leathery membrane just under the skull, and the brain itself. Subdural hematomas usually occur following a head trauma that breaks the blood vessels that surround the brain.

Cristiano da Matta suffered severe head injuries Thursday after striking a deer during Champ Car testing at Elkhart Lake, Wis.
The 32-year-old Brazilian was airlifted to Theda Clark Medical Center hospital where he underwent surgery Thursday night. His condition was critical.
“After arriving at Theda Clark Medical Center, a head CT scan showed Cristiano had suffered a subdural hematoma," stated Dr. Chris Pinderski, Champ Car Director of Medical Affairs. "He was urgently taken to the operating room for surgical removal of the hematoma and is now being observed in the intensive care unit.”
The next 24 hours will be crucial for the 2002 CART champion as doctors try to reduce the swelling in his brain.
According to an eyewitness, da Matta was heading for Turn 6 at Road America when the deer ran out in front of him and struck the right front of his RuSPORT Lola. The deer caromed into the cockpit as da Matta smashed into the tire barrier with his foot still planted on the throttle.
Safety crews extracted him on a backboard and applied an oxygen mask as he was taken to a helicopter.
In the wake of the crash, RuSPORT announced that Justin Wilson and the No. 9 team will not participate in the final day of Champ Car testing at Road America.
Known as "Shorty," the good-natured veteran was coming off his first podium of the season, a second place last Sunday at San Jose.

Spoke with a team member and he is in surgery to relieve some bleeding and pressure on the brain. They will keep him in a coma for a couple of days. Vitals are good though. So here's hoping all will be well with him. Speedy recovery Shorty. If I hear more I will let you know.
But they will not be running Shorty's car in Denver.
Da Matta surgery update UPDATE Cristiano has had second scan after the surgery and there are not currently any other damaged areas.
He will be kept in a coma for 24-36 hours for his own protection.
He will remain in the hospital there for 2 weeks approx. We know a lot of people are concerned and need to know his progress. The prognosis is good at this point
